The Ashnil camp is a luxury accommodation facility that is located right in the middle of the Masai Mara National Reserve. It will take you approximately six hours to get to the camp while driving and a 45 minutes’ flight from Nairobi to Masai Mara (note that the National Reserve is about 260Km from Nairobi). With 56 en-suite tented rooms, the camp is located in a strategic area where guests get to experience the wildebeest migration first-hand. Tourists who love flora are also well catered for with the different types of vegetation within the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Masai Mara National Reserve is a top tourist destination in Kenya due to the flora and fauna found and not forgetting the wildebeest migration that takes place annually. The wildebeest migration is where millions of wildebeests, gazelles, and zebras cross from Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya due to a change in the weather. The crossings along Masai Mara can be witnessed from the camp making it a good destination for tourists.

Best time to stay at Ashnil Mara Camp

Ashnil Mara camp can be booked all year round but we strongly suggest that you book in advance (at least 6 months prior) especially during the peak season during the wildebeest migration. This is because many tourists throng the Reserve making it hard to get a room easily and the costs double and sometimes triple during this period. The low/wet season on the other hand has fewer guests but you will still need to find out its availability.
